Connie Maier and Mark James

The Growth Coach® specializes in coaching small business owners and self-employed professionals – helping entrepreneurs to get more out of their businesses and personal lives. Our goal is to help entrepreneurs to work less, earn more, and enjoy richer lives. Using a proven and unique focusing process, we help to enhance the strategic mindset and actions of our clients.

The Growth Coach® is located in Richmond, Virginia, and affiliated with a major network of coaches throughout the United States and Canada. Our coaching and accountability process has been successfully used and continually refined for about 20 years.

Connie Maier and Mark James, co-owners of this coaching business, enjoy working with clients to achieve balance in their lives and success in their businesses. Together, they are passionate about enabling other small business owners to concentrate their energy and efforts on:

Connie Maier, Coach and Managing Partner

Connie brings over 20 years of corporate experience where she led strategic planning, financial analysis and acquisitions analysis in a team environment. With a BS degree in Business and Public Administration from the University of Texas at Dallas, a Master of Engineering degree from the University of Virginia, and an MBA from Duke University, Connie is uniquely qualified to assist clients in setting and achieving realistic goals.

Connie is certified in The Growth Coach’s Strategic Mindset® Coaching Process. She and her husband Mark James are the parents of two teenagers.

Mark James, Coach and Director of Business Development

A 1978 graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy with a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mark served in the Navy during the Cold War and earned his MBA from Duke University. He brings over 25 years of corporate, business ownership and military experience to The Growth Coach®.

Mark has significant expertise in relationship-based sales and marketing earning him top performance club awards. Mark and Connie are committed to serving Small and Medium-sized Businesses throughout Greater Richmond each day, and also to community volunteer service as a family.
